Wisercent is a small, independent collection of free personal finance calculators built for people in the United States. The idea is simple: the most important money questions — what will my mortgage really cost?, how much tax will I owe?, how much of my paycheck do I keep? — deserve clear, honest arithmetic, not a sales pitch or a sign-up form.

What we believe

  • Math should be transparent. Every calculator on this site shows the formula it uses, a worked example, and a full breakdown of the result. If you can't verify a number, you shouldn't trust it.
  • Privacy is a feature. All calculations run entirely in your browser. We operate no backend that processes your financial inputs, and we never ask for your name, email, or account details to use a calculator.
  • Estimates, not advice. These tools produce planning-grade estimates using standard formulas and current public rules (like IRS tax brackets). They are not a substitute for a licensed mortgage professional, tax advisor, or fiduciary financial planner. See our Disclaimer.
  • Speed matters. The site is plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — no heavy frameworks — so it loads fast on any phone or computer, even on slow connections.

How the site stays free

Wisercent is supported by advertising. You'll see clearly marked ad placements on our pages; we never sell your data, and because calculations happen locally, there is very little data to sell in the first place. For details, see our Privacy Policy.

Keeping the numbers current

Tax rules change every year. Our tax logic is organized around a single, clearly-labeled configuration block so brackets, standard deductions, and FICA limits can be refreshed each January when the IRS publishes new figures. If you ever spot a number that looks out of date, please let us know — accuracy reports from readers are genuinely welcome.
